The Journal of Art and Iconography is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year (March-September).
The publishing language of the Journal of Art and Iconography is Turkish. In addition, English scientific studies are published.
The editorial board decides on the studies in other languages.
Articles should consist of abstract (at least 120 words), keywords (at least 3 concepts) in Turkish, as well as English title, English abstract (at least 120 words), keywords (at least 3 concepts).
The article should contain a bibliography and footnote prepared in accordance with the APA 7 Citation System.
A maximum of one study by the same author can be published in an issue.

In the referee evaluation system of our journal, articles are evaluated by at least two referees. In case of equality in the decisions, the publication is sent to a third referee.
Article Preparation
The compliance of the submitted articles with the journal writing rules will first be checked by the Editorial Office, and the articles that are not prepared in accordance with the journal writing rules will be sent back to the authors with technical correction requests.
Title page
A separate titl e page should be sent with all submitted articles. This page;
- The title of the article and its short title, which does not exceed 50 characters,
- Authors' names, institutions and educational degrees,
- Detailed information about financial support information and other sources of support,
- Name, address, telephone (including mobile phone) and e-mail address of the corresponding author,
- ORCID numbers of all authors
-It should include information about individuals who contribute to the article preparation process but do not meet the authorship criteria.
Abstract: All articles other than Letter to the Editor should have abstracts in Turkish and English. Abstracts of Original Research articles should be prepared without subheadings.
Keywords: All articles should be submitted with at least 3 and at most 6 keywords, keywords should be written just below the abstract. Abbreviations should not be used as keywords.
Types of Articles
Original Research: The main text should include the subheadings "Introduction", "Method", "Results", "Discussion" and "Conclusion and Suggestions". For restrictions on Original Research, please see Table 1.
Compilation: Articles prepared by experts who have accumulated in the field of writing and whose savings are reflected in the number of publications and references in the international literature are evaluated. The authors can also be invited by the magazine. It should be prepared in a format that describes, discusses, evaluates and leads to future studies. The main text should start with the “Introduction” section and end with the “Conclusion” section. The rest of the text can be determined by the authors according to the content of the study. Images and Captions
Pictures, graphics and photographs (in TIFF or JPEG format) should be uploaded to the system as separate files. Images should not be presented in a Word file document or main document. When there are images divided into sub-units, the sub-units should not be given within a single image. Each subunit must be installed on the system as a separate file. Images should not be tagged for the purpose of identifying subunits (a, b, c, etc.). Images can use thick and thin arrows, arrowheads, stars, asterixes, and similar markings to support captions. Pictures, like the rest of the article, should be blind. For this reason, the information of the person and institution in the pictures should also be blinded. The minimum resolution of images must be 300DPI. To avoid disruptions in the evaluation process, all submitted images should have a clear resolution and a large size (minimum dimensions 100x100 mm). Image captions should be placed at the end of the main text.
All abbreviations in the article should be defined separately in the main text and abstract, where they are used for the first time, and the abbreviation should be given in parentheses after the definition.
All references, tables and pictures should be cited sequentially numbered where appropriate in the main text.
The limitations, obstacles and inadequacies of original research should be mentioned in the "Discussion" section before the conclusion paragraph.
Resources
When citing, the latest and most up-to-date publications should be preferred. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the references. Both the in-text references and the bibliography section should be prepared according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) version 7 (in Microsoft Word application, References, Manage Sources) published by the American Psychological Association. In in-text references, the author's surname and publication date should be cited in parentheses.
